FAQs

The name 'Ailo' derives its essence from the Chinese character for Love (爱, translated as 'Ai' and pronounced "eye"), which forms the foundation of Dr. Pan's Chinese name. This character, combined with her maiden last name 'Lo', symbolizes our dedication to providing personalized and caring medical services.

Dr. Pan is driven by a deep passion for primary care and a commitment to compassionate healthcare delivery. Ailo Health is more than just a name; it embodies our philosophy of putting love and compassion at the heart of healthcare.

Yes, you can use a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for Direct primary care (DPC) membership fees. Using FSA/HSA funds for DPC membership can help with budgeting and reduce taxable income.

Ailo Health does not accept insurance, and we do not bill your insurance for our services. Your flat, monthly membership fee includes access to all of our primary care services.
Although our model of primary care will be able to address most of your health care needs, it does not cover the costs of specialists, other health professionals, hospitalizations, emergency room and urgent care visits. Having health insurance ensures that you have coverage of these and other other medical expenses that fall outside the scope of Ailo Health.

Yes! As a member of Ailo Health, you will be able to reach Dr. Ruth Pan by text, phone or email after hours. Should you reach out to Dr. Pan for an urgent issue after hours, she will triage your symptoms appropriately and get back to you in a timely manner.

Dr. Pan may recommend being seen in-person, in the rare instance that your medical issue necessitates one. In these cases, Dr. Pan will help you find a nearby in-person primary care provider or urgent care to be seen, and follow up on management recommendations.

At Ailo Health, maintenance of good health and prevention of disease is paramount.

The fact is, no matter your age or your health status, everybody should have a primary care provider (PCP). Your PCP is your health partner for helping you stay healthy and well at every stage of your life.  Being familiar with your full medical history and current lifestyle choices, your PCP can help you reduce the risk of chronic disease and manage any symptoms should they arise.

Ailo Health makes it even easier for you to partner with a primary care provider by bringing the care directly to you, virtually, in the comfort of your home or wherever you are.
